(Traieste-ti viata bine. Dacă zeii exista şi sunt drepti, atunci nu le va pasa cat de mult i-ai venerat ci cat de virtuos ti-ai trait viata. Daca exista zei si sunt nedrepti, atunci nu ar trebui sa vrei sa-i venerezi. Daca nu exista zei, vei dispare, dar ... vei fi trait o viata nobila care va supravietui in memoria celor pe care-i iubesti)

Un citat excelent atribuit oriunde dai peste el in Internet lui Marcus Aurelius, dar nicaieri nu se specifica sursa. Este un fel de invers al pariului lui Pascal atat de vehiculat de credinciosi. Totusi, am dubii serioase ca citatul ii apartine imparatului roman, cel putin in Meditatiile sale nu apare. Mai degraba sunt cuvintele puse in gura personajului Marcus Aurelius interpretat de Richard Harris in Gladiator.

lol, ce tâmpenie. Oricum Meditaţiile sunt frumoase dar cred că sunt sub Enchiridionul lui Epictet.
